James Linehan
James Linehan is a NYC-based motion graphics / 3d artist. For the past 10 years he has worked on a variety of projects ranging from TV promos, show opens, logo and title animations, animated set graphics, documentary graphics, corporate explainer videos, and pitch graphics.
He started his career at Oxygen TV, blending live action into stylized 3D worlds. From there he went to CBS Sports Network, where he created Promax BDA award-winning animated studio set graphics and on-air graphics packages. He then went on to A+E Networks, where he provided motion graphics support for a wide range of programming for channels such as Lifetime, History, Fyi, A&E.
In 2019, he went into full time freelancing and worked on projects that include a 3D product animation for Boston Dynamics, the 2019 Disney upfront presentation, a series of Weight Watchers short form animations, and motion graphics for the documentary “Dilemma of Desire” directed by two-time Peabody award winning Director Maria Finitzo. He created pitch motion graphics for the branding company Siegel+Gale, working on clients such as Micron, Surescripts, Otis, Raytheon, and Datasite. Most recently, he worked on projects at the marketing firm Reingold, such as Covid-19 safety guideline animations for NBA and WNBA players and suicide prevention awareness social animations for the Department of Veteran Affairs.
James is a creative thinker who can solve complex design challenges, from flat 2D kinetic animations to photorealistic 3D simulations. He has the ability to transform client needs into visually engaging experiences through storytelling, motion design and animation.
